Eat fun stuff and have fun making it (loads of personal secrets in this article)

I LOVE EATING.

I also love experimenting with new food types and recipes – though I have never followed a recipe to the “t”.

Knowing how to cook simple real foods for yourself, is great to motivate you to stay on the right track, for much longer.

!Important message! 'The charlatans on tiktok and !Important message!
'The charlatans on tiktok and Instagram continue to thrive. They use vague terms like “balance your hormones” to sell you on supplements and programs that are worthless and potentially dangerous.

If you truly have hormonal issues, you just first have an evaluation and determine the underlying issue. What hormone is it specifically? What is the root cause? Ever notice these folks don’t actually give specifics hormones and how their specific concoction actually works?

You never see an endocrinologist making these claims. It’s always someone in a field outside of endocrinology. It’s because hormones are sexy and sell well to unknowing folks. These people should be ashamed especially if they have medical licenses.'

It's probably a lot more complex than you'd expect It's probably a lot more complex than you'd expect.
Upbringing, background, family, social and professional network, habits, surroundings, etc.

In five months, You cannot unlearn what you've become accustomed to over the last, so many, years.

Think long term, habits, routines, friends, family, work, stress, stress & expectations management. And so much more.

That doesn't mean you can't get to your goals. It only means that it is worth the time investment.

#knowwhatworks #coach_arlin #youcandothistoo #life #health #nutrition #feednotstuffyourbody thanks to @mr.cogfit for this gem.
Notice how there are very little deep impact spots Notice how there are very little deep impact spots. I.e.
1. no hard heel landing and
2. no hard push off from the toes.

Why is that important?
Well:
1. If you have a heavy heel landing you're pretty much slamming the brakes, thus wasting energy on slowing down and there's a lot more impact on your joints, ligaments and tendons. This unnecessary wear and tear. Which can result in unwanted injuries. Skip that.

2. A hard push off from the toes means you're using your calf musculature structures, unnecessarily. So again, wasting energy on increasing chances on unwanted injuries.
Skip that.

Learn to land softly and run from your glutes.

This is only one aspect to you running better, for longer, with less risk of injuries.
That's a win, win, win in my books😉

There are more awesome details to learn. Like breathing depth and rhythm, posture, brace timing and percentage. Checklist and timing.

Questions? Let me know. Drop your q below. Interested in greatly improving your running as well as greatly reducing your risk of injuries? Mail me info@vitperform.com, DM me or call me on 0611076364. Online and in person coaching.

Ps. If you have some sand in the area (Beach/dam) it's quite cool and easy to check your running/ jogging style for yourself. Like you see in this video from early this morning. Gotta love these sunrises☀️

I, generally, only do one on one coaching, in pers I, generally, only do one on one coaching, in person and online.
But I have a couple of group coaching sessions per week that I wouldn't want to stop, nor mis.

These groups have been active for about 5 to 7 years and over the years, these people have become fitter and stronger, mentally as well as physically.

PLUS, we've built up awesome friendships.
Supporting each other in a constant, fun manner.

I love it and I love all these people!!!

And it's only Tuesday 🤔 'Not my meme but hilari And it's only Tuesday 🤔
'Not my meme but hilarious! I like to teach about acceptance-based therapy. The idea that we should accept certain things out of our control and focus on what we can control. For example, green vegetables in general don’t taste as good as French fries and hamburgers and cookies. That’s okay though! They taste good enough and eating them aligns with what we usually value (our health).

We have to accept that most of us work at a job where we come back home slightly tired and hungry. We have the choice to cook those vegetables in the fridge, but we often times go to the phone to get delivery. I do it too! In those moments, think about what you value. Accept that the vegetables probably won’t taste as good as the take out. But that they are okay enough and will help steer you to what you value (health, living longer to play with kids, whatever).

Replace vegetables with whatever other food that will help steer you as well. Reposted from @drnadolsky #knowwhatworks #coach_arlin

Some people have excuses, some people have results Some people have excuses, some people have results.
Now, it's a given, obviously some people have real reasons that keep them from training out in the cold and snow.
For the rest, you can adapt your training and clothing.
@schutvictor rocking his @underarmour gear and his training, as always!
A great example goes a long way!!

How can you adapt your training?
1. Don't go for max weights. Low energy, distraction, focus. Keep that for better days.
2. Go for high reps with low weights with exercises you know really well. This will keep you warm plus it will have a cardio aspect to it.
And you will still make progress.

Sounds funny, but it ain't 👏😆
We humans have a tendency to learn bad habits, quite rapidly.
And unlearning takes a lot more effort and time.
So stay sharp y'all.
Be aware of your daily activities and if they're good or not useful - in the long run.
Prevention is better than any cure. Always 😘

Still one of the most awesome and most compound mo Still one of the most awesome and most compound moves around.
You have all five the movement chains, coordination, power, balance, timing, focus, all muscles (even on your forehead, ask).
Plus, if you do more than three in a row it also becomes some hardcore cardio.
The clean & Jerk.

BUT!!
It's quite technical and you don't want to do this the wrong way.

Transitioning from an explosive deadlift to an explosive squat catch has many little details.
So get your deadlift strong with good technique.
Plus, get your front squat strong with good technique.

Then, just maybe, you're ready for this.
Have a serious professional look at your technique though. It's worth it.

Your back, strong for life, is worth it.
Video analysis also work great!

In this post I will only cover foot positioning an In this post I will only cover foot positioning and a bit of the leg mechanics. With regards to reducing the risk of injuries as well as improving your performance.

There is a lot to win here, though it’s only a small part of all the full, optimal movement chains involved.

Think of brace, breathing, posture, head position, stride, strength training, warm-ups, mobility, etc

I’ll keep it short though.

On the right of the picture you see, in the footprint, there’s:

1. more pressure during landing and

2. more pressure during push-off,

in comparison to the footprints on the left.

1.      With a harder heel landing you are slamming the breaks, for a bit. That is counterproductive. Plus, it is a much harder landing which means there’s more wear and tear on the involved structures. (tendons, muscles, joints, etc).

2.      Pushing off from the front of your feet means all the structures involved get strained unnecessarily. And for those with Achilles heel or other sensitivities in the calf/ankle region, this is near sure-fire to get (old and new) injuries to flair up.

Besides, you want to run from your glutes. Musculature wise and mechanical wise it’s your best bet. I mean - your glutes are damn strong and can handle more than your quads and calves combined (push-off from the front of your foot, generally)

So what do you want to do? Land softly with the mid-front section of your foot, let the heal touch the surface and propel from your glutes, not your calves.

Ps: if you can test this somewhere it would help a lot.

If I can’t use a run technique test center, I like to go on wet sand, with my clients. Low impact but you can clearly see how the pressure is spread evenly, or not (heel landing, ball of foot push-off, or a combination of the two).

Depending on the surface and gradient you're running/jogging, some adaptations will be useful though 😉 #contextmatters
